Default rear ?

i just ordered an eaton from toms diferential, seemed prety cheap, $397 for the posi, bearings, oil, adative, gasket, shimkit, marking compound and shipping.

i asked about other parts they sell for these units and he told me about a steel bearing cap for the drivers side($60) and the TA cover($145). does anyone think these parts should be put in or are there any other parts that should be considered?

I would probably at least put the rear cover on with the power you're putting down.

Look carefully at the cover...Tom's diffs are the best. I deal with Tom and Zeus there all the time...Should look into some of his KA axles if you are goning to push the stock 10 bolt too much harder.

I'm sure Jim is pushing both front and rear differentials pretty hard. But that spreads out the stress some I'd think.

i probably don't really need the eaton, i doubt it will make me any quicker but i am thinking it will allow my rear to put more of the power to the ground and not need the front quite as much. also thinking the rear is alot easier to beef up. so what i am hearing is that i should get everything, the cover, bearing cap and axles? how much are those axles and are they easy to put in?

also geting the eaton so i can hang the rear of my truck out around corners, i love it when it does that but more often than not it just spins one wheel like mad.
