Andy is right. 7.4's will more than likely work fine, unless you're planning on changing the lifters to the LS7's, or if you get a cam with a different base circle than the stock cam.

My idle has a mild chop to it. The cam is cut on a 114LSA

This is a video that I made for my brother after I got everything done to it, so ignore my commentary.

A cam on a lower LSA tends to have more chop to it. It also moves the powerband to the left, which means more low end. Honestly, I'd get one spec'd for you by PatG. I think if you buy the cam from him, he gives you that $25 back in the price of the cam.

Okay and PatG is a member on here? or what? I listened to your truck and a few more on youtube and from what i can tell the 212/218 comp cam has an idle i could deal with atleast until I get the money to do alot more to my tahoe to be able to run a bigger cam.

One last question, would it be okay to drive it un-tuned? Just for a little while maybe a week or so because my tuner stays booked and his shop is 30 mins away.

The 212/218 should be ok to drive around for alittle while untuned. Just take it easy.

Only if you can live with it dying on you in stop and go traffic and almost very time you engage the gear, ect... As it probably will.
Just don't hammer it too hard as you AFR will be totally out of whack until you tune it.

This is my truck with the SDPC HT 1 cam. it is right on the verge of needing a stall i'm adding a fesh tans and a 2500 or so stall. You will need a tune or be really good and two footing.

The SDPC HT1 cam is what I recommended way back on page 1 of this thread. If he wants a lopey idle, that one will deliver.
