I don't have any logs of the incident. I haven't had any need to log for a while now. The tune was rock solid. So good in fact that when we disconnected the pcm to drop the transmission to install the new convertor (a Yank 3000, btw). It needed virtually ZERO learn time. It started and idled fine. The rest of the tune was equally good. No problems there for sure.

I would say that the rpms were closer to 3000 when it let go. Not very high at all.
I was coasting down on the freeway because i was concerned about the possibilty of law enforcement officers hiding on some upcoming overpasses. Earlier in the evening we hammered on it a bit, but I wasn't doing anything out of the ordinary when it let go. Everything was warmed up and good to go.

New plans include a 402 or 408 and FI, of course Definitely heads (only because mine are trashed)... maybe headers.

I wouldn't worry about the N2O. that wasn't the problem. The ring lands look fine (between the breaks anyway)

When you say the tune was rock solid were you taking into account the lower winter time temps and that FI cars usually make a lot more HP and hense require more fuel?

well we are 99% sure the failure was a rod bolt.

That leaves out the tune and just about every thing except non-compresion loads on the Rod

We will know more after the Engine comes out that is for sure. What we do have show no signs of Detonation are a bad tune

Parts will start hitting us next week Truck may be running in two depending on some parts showing up

I think I will get some good results after I swap cams, I have other problems that are not head related. My main problem is in the valvetrain, when this gets straightened out it should be close to 400 at the wheels

Cool

Sorry to hear about your engine. That is quite a mess.

The thought of it is really freaking me out.

Good luck with the new and better replacement!

Sorry that happened Cory.

You planning on using an Iron or aluminum block? If / when my motor has a problem, I think I'll be going with the LS2 or the upcoming 6.2L variant.

Based on wideband readings it was perfectly fine.
