Default Radix prefers open or closed air filter?

I have a radix on my 5.3. I had a crappy open cone filter (ebay) and it worked fine. Recently went back to the stock air box/filter and I can feel a difference believe it or not. My question is would the Radix breathe better on an open style filter or should I get a K&N filter to drop in the stock air box or another system altogether? Thanks for the inputs.

I would recomend the Airaid, I have it and its not noisy and it seal against the hood real good to keep that unwanted heat out.

try a k and N drop in and cut out the side of the air box that faces the fender so its similar to a duramax air box. i'm using this set up N/A with a volant MIT and it works great, bet it works better with a radix

Do you happen to have a pic of that set up?

I drilled some 2" holes in the front of my airbox, and removed the deflector between the rad support and headlight bracket. At the track, I take out the right headlight. Works pretty good. I have the K&N panel that came in the Radix kit.

Anybody give any more thought into the Outlaw set-up for a Radix application?

I was told that with a blower a CAI kit won't be any benefit? Was I told wrong?
