Default Radix heat investigation

I spent a little time with some thermal imaging equipment examining my truck. I watched hot spots develop during idle, took a look at stuff after a 5 mile gentle cruise. Took some more after a couple of hard WOT runs. I haven't completely processed the data yet. But I thought I'd share a few pics.

Observations:
Radix pulley was about 20* hotter than the compressor.
Radiator hose had an external 170* temp.
I think my ASM headers showed 400*+.
That alternator is crazy - 125* external temp, 225 internal temp.

(higher temps = brighter)

Sweet huh?

Boost gauge line is wrapped in loom and doesn't show heat in the pictures. The bright wire I think you are talking about in the top two pics is the positive wire coming off the back of the alternator.

Here is a cool shot of the headers (valve cover on left with plug wires coming down).

I like this one too - Grill shot of bowtie with transmission cooler behind it. Trans cooler was 127*, grill was 68*.
