You could have leaked oil to excessive crankcase pressure also. Usually your dipstick tube would have been pushed out slightly though or the oil filler cap would have popped off. Either way the guys are right, check your plugs regardless of what else you find. Putting on a smaller pulley almost always requires a retune to add fuel and or drop timing in certain places. If your plugs looked super white or are missing parts/slammed shut and the if you open the oil filler cap and have a choo choo train effect then you have troubles.

Hopefully we are all just jumping to conclusions and everything is fine.

I want a better explanation of this symptom. EGR is moved to the intake tube part on the radix. Are you saying you see an oil leak on the passenger side of the motor where the blower mates up to the cylinder head? Is the leak coming from the valve cover or cover gasket on that side? The new knocking noise has me worried. I think you should pull the throttle body and intake tube off, then remove the coil pack bracket and open up the valve cover. Its possible you've got a problem with a rocker or pushrod.

If you still have good oil pressure, then I don't think your buddy is right.
