Default Radiator swap

Who here has swapped from the stock 5.3L radiator to the 6.0L radiator? What was the cost of the parts needed and what was involved in the swap? Thanks

I got my 6.0 radiator from Radiator Barn It ran me about $250 shipped and I didn't need anything but tools to put it in. I got the auto/non oil cooler one. Took about 20 mins to install. It drops right in and bolts right up. Your sub frame is already set up for it.

greg, you don't have the oil cooler, or did you delete it with the new one? isn't the oil cooler the tall skinny thing on the front of the radiator? how much difference in cooling will be seen with a 6.0 radiator?

Ther is a tranny cooler on all the radiators, but the oil cooler was an option on some of the 6.0 packages. Sure you may not need a 6.0 radiator, but when I had plans to swap the engine and my stock radiator poped a hole, why not get the extra capacity. I also towed over 6200#'s hundreds of miles all the time with the 4.8 and never had problems.

Matt - That tall skinny cooler mounted in front of the radiator is the power steering cooler.

so, if you replace the stock radiator with a 6.0 radiator then it would have a bigger tranny cooler as well right? which lines into the radiator are the tranny cooler lines?

The hard lines on the passenger side are the tranny cooler lines. The cooler is inside the passenger side endtank. An aftermarket cooler is still better.
