Radiator size question?
#1
Do you guys know of an aftermarket radiator or a larger factory one that will work in our trucks. It has only been about a 105 the last couple of weeks and i dont have any problems with normal driving, but as soon as i turn on the AC she wants to climb higher and higher.

you could go with an '05 radiator and '05 fans if you don't already have that in.
Or the alternative would be a fluidyne and some custom brackets, a new tranny cooler since it's not integrated anymore, and some E-fans of some type.
Cooling upgrades are never cheap, and only add insurance
I'd say start a group buy on them, so you can get re-sale status with them to get yourself and everyone else a good deal on them. They probably have a hefty buy-in.
Pass on your cost to us since it's helping you become a distributor of a fantastic product

If you already have the 6.0L 34" radiator I think that's the biggest that will fit in a 1500 series. The 8.1L/Dmax may have a bigger radiator if I remember right but, not sure it'll drop right in.
Get a custom dual core made and make a bracket for a set of FAL 282 fans. Probably sell one or two.

I just have the factory 5.3L radiator w/LS1 fans on it. I think the fans are fine. The only reason i say that is because even when i take it on the freeway it will still over heat, with a ton of air blowing on it. I was thinking the same thing on the 8.1L. I am curious to see if it is the same or not. I think i am going to call my buddies up at the dealership and see. I will also check fluidyne, see if they have anything close.

For less then a fluidyne setup a '05 radiator and '05 fans may fit the bill for you. Find the writeup that I think moregrip or perhaps charris did on it. It has all of the part numbers and costs. I think all in all it's under $500, and if you have "dealer friends," it could be way less.

I just put in a 34' radiator out of an 01 6.0 along with 05 fans and 160 thermostat. Even though it is 104 here also, it still takes forever for it to get up to temp and when it does the needle barely moves.

Sean - Try the 6.0L radiator first before going to exspensive. My truck is like 1blown04's. I can start it up and if I let it idle up to temp it takes forever in the 90 degree heat before the fans kick on.
If that doesn't work just have a radiator shop build a custom dual core with the same dimensions and mounting points as the 6.0L so it'll bolt right in. The last time I had a custom dual core aluminum radiator built it was only like $400 so that wasn't too bad.
