got mine locally. 1-800-radiators might help too. i don't know what i want for it. make me an offer and i will probably take it. need money for my new motor anyway.

 

I put some 2x2 foam between my fans and the radiator after I noticed one of the coolant tubes was dented. Luckily it hadn't dented enough to affect coolant flow or to cause a leak. Anyone with LS1 fans pressing against the back of the radiator, PUT SOME FOAM BETWEEN TO CUSHION IT. I got mine at Walmart. It is made for a window air conditioning unit and costs about 3 dollars.

EDIT- If you are saying the pull thru zips are what busted the radiator then I am in deep **** because I mounted my fans with those, too.

Yes, the zipps did it over time just by vibrating and rubbing on the coil. I had cushion between and planned on makng brackets to keep it off the radiator. I just forgot about it as time went by.

 

Well, I was afaid that the repair would not last. But for $25.00, I gave it a shot. Well today, the repair....unrepaired. Looks like I'll be getting the 6.0 one (see XLR8NSS's post above), but with out the oil cooler. I really don't think It will be that big of deal since I won't be towing with it. If that ever comes to pass, I would rather go with a frame cooler anyway. I'm not worried to much about the oil burning up anymore.

What is the best way to make brackets for the fans? It looks like you could bolt a piece on to slip into the slot on the passenger side of the fans, but the other side would be impossible since the fan is in the way. Also you could make some kind of brackets to fit the 2 holes that held the fan shroud on. Someone post some close up pics of the brackets and where you got them at. Thanks.

 

Well, I sent the money order for that 6.0 radiator Wednesday and less than 48 hours later, it was at my door. Radiator barn rocks.
Cash Dude: I just took some scrap metal that I had laying around and bent it to fit. I used the holes and bolts for the stock shroud to mount to.

That green spot in the uper left corner of the one on the ground is where it busted twice. I went ahead and had it fixed again (no charge) and this time they crimped that tube off and patched it. Well, it's a spare now and will go back in when I sell it.
