Default Quiet exhaust suggestions

I picked up a 2002 Suburban. Its for the lady to haul around the kids in. She cannot stand the sound of my truck - which is long tubes into a 50 series without cats.

I want to put some headers on the suburban. Looking for suggestions on the total exhaust setup from people who have more experience then me.

I was thinking:

Pace setter long tubes
high flow cats
magnaflow muffler
full tail pipe with chrome tip

Thoughts? Suggestions on a quiet muffler?

Are the cats in obx headers any good?

im running a stock trailblazer ss muffler because I dont like it to loud either. But the muffler is still good for a power setup because its a 3 inch in/out straight through muffler. Straight through and quiet so win win for me. I would suggest running this muffler...

A large case Magnaflow muffler in the stock location with the stock tailpipe would be pretty quiet.

I would not put headers on it. She will be able to hear too much. My wife would not go for that at all. She does drive a stock TBSS though. A stock duramax diesel muffler is pretty decent I have heard.

The "cats" that come with the OBX/Ebay headers are actually just resonators, and do very little (if any) quieting down of the exhaust. Most people here seem to run TWO mufflers inline to get their trucks quiet with headers and no cats. Of course if you run real cats, then one decent muffler would probably be quiet enough.

That being said, with the Ebay headers on my truck, I run a 3" center in/center out Hooker AeroChamber as well as a 3" single inlet into 2.5" dual outlet Dynomax Super Turbo (since I run dual tailpipes). Both are "straight thru" design and truck runs great with absolutely ZERO drone or rasp. It's as quiet as stock when driven "normally", but has a nice deep tone at WOT.

With cats on my headers it wasn't too bad.

The main reason I want to put headers on it is, I want to put larger headers on my truck for upcoming mods, and put my current long tubes on the suburban.

This was with Flowmaster in place of the Dynomax, so it is slightly louder in the video, than it is right now.

I have two. Not the best audio quality since it was taken by a $200 camera, not a camcorder.

Why put anything on it if its going to be a problem??? I know its prob a big dog but if your gonna spend upwards of $1000 why not save another and pickup a used maggie and leave the exhaust alone??

I run the tbss muffler on the silvy with catless headers and its quieter than the tahoe with cats and a 5x8x24 magnaflow...
