I know this is a stupid question but how will stock converter in a 2008 silverado 5.3l work with a 224/230 cam i know its not going to run good numbers but I'm just wandering how it wil run as a DD. I'm getting a 3600 stall but not till summer and I'm putting the cam in during christmas break.

 

Youll be able to drive it around, but it will suck wind bad anywhere below 3000 rpm... it just felt strange when I rode around in a friends truck with a decent sized cam without a converter... real laggy then suddenly power lol

 

it feels like ****... i did it for 4 months.

 

is it really that bad and yeah i know its going to suck down low.

 

Yea man no power for me at all down low. In the 1/4 i had a 2.4 60" time but trapped 99mph. 1st gear was **** for me but once i hit 2nd it pulled hard as hell. Road racing is fine just nothing from a dig. All that changes though with a 3600 stall.

 

yeah I'm planning on getting the 3600 but just wanted to know how it was without it
