Default questions on prochargers

Hey all, I've been doing some research on turbos, and prochargers. And I'm just trying to put together a cheap kit. It's going on a stock bottom end 5.3l. I plan on building a motor later on and turn the boost up then.

I've pieced together a turbo kit, for about 2000. That includes. A 400lph fuel pump and 60lb injectors. With a 78mm turbo.

With a procharger. I want to piece together a kit. As I don't wanna pay 6k for a premade Kit. So used p1sc units are about 600-900. The main bracket for my truck is 440. If I make a custom bracket I can save money. But I'm at about 1000-1300 for just the head unit and bracket. I then would need an intercooler, and the piping. My question is what else is needed to run it? Do I need a Blow off valve to run a procharger? Do I need an intercooler if I'm going to run stock pulley size for about 7psi? And what size injectors would I need for 7psi? Will the stock fuel pump handle 7psi? Thanks for the help in advanced. I've been searching the Web for the last 4 hours trying to find answers but I'm not having luck with finding my exact questions. Thanks.

fuel system mods will be the same for both, so that is a wash.

Save yourself the trouble and go with a pre made bracket and save yourself the trouble if you decide to go the procharger route.

Yes, you need a blow off valve for both so that is a wash as well.
Also, intercooler and piping is the same for both so that is a wash too.

You will likely not be able to do the procharger thing sucessfully with less up front cost, but in the long run could be more cost effective.

Thanks for the response. Do I have to run an intercooler for 7psi on the procharger? Or could I get away with no intercooler? I know on turbos. It is recommended but on low boost not needed. Is it the same as on the procharger? Thanks.

Also why would it be more cost effective later down the road over a turbo? Thanks again.

I would say you don't need an intercooler to run 7 psi on either set up. It's all in the tuning really.

I say cost effective down the road cause "cheap" turbo kits seem to get many upgrades before they are finished.
