Default Questions about the trucks

I just purchased a 2001 GMC Sierra Regular Cab Stepside. The truck only has 24k miles on it but no warranty left due to it being a 2001. I'm getting ready to start modding the truck, piece by piece. Whoever had the truck before me already changed out the radio's, but I'm going to slide a Kenwood unit in it that I had due to it being a better piece of equipment. I ordered a dual 10" box from Subthump with the amp area that I hope to get in the truck this weekend. As best I can tell the truck is fairly stock except for a Flowmaster 30 Series muffler and possibly a shift kit because it seems to shift harder than the 99 I used to have. What kinds of mods are there that can be done to the truck? I know you can do the TB Bypass like on the Camaro's and Firebirds. But I've seen something about changing the servos over to the Corvette Servos What is this mod and what effect does it have on the truck? Anyone that can post on this and other worthwhile mods would be greatly appreciated. I'll post pics after I get a few coats of Zaino put on it this weekend.

Basically anything you can do to your car you should be able to do to your truck. The engines are a lot a like, almost everything is interchangable.

The tranny is the same way ... you can change the servos out to the vette or billet servos.

What does changing the servos out do, and what are they exactly? I'm new to alot of this and used to being around the older muscle cars and trucks.

depending on what servo you get. it firms up the shifts so they are not smooth, but rather firm. if you put i trans go shift kit in there, the one with the video. it will make it shift quick and firm with the servos.

look into a programmed PCM, makes a noticble difference. I wish I'd gotten the billet servo's now
