$500 budget
$2,000 - $3000 budget
Efans are a good one to add to the list, but not first. There is a pin you have to change, and you are basically getting a tune done to do it. Its $100 - $300 to do efans if you have the tune done, but you can't just do the efans without a tune / pin change.
They didn't change them to be more efficient, they did it to be quieter. They added extra blades and shortened them, because people were complaining how loud they were. The 5/7 blade fan uses 300 watt motors, and the 7/9 blade fans use 500 watt motors. If anything they are less efficient, (but they are quieter). Yeah you will need a larger alt. The 300 watts are ( / 14.4 = ) 34.7 amps, 500 watts are ( / 14.4 = ) 48.6 amps, you are adding to your electrical system

The NNBS HD fans fit the NBS trucks like a glove. They have one extra blade on each fan (seven & nine) making them more efficient than the NBS fans. You'll have to upgrade the alternator to the 135/145 AMP and buy the longer serp belt as the 110 AMP alternator belt is to short.
