I have seen this happen to my dad but I dont remember what it was, it was either the Idle Control Valve or the Fuel Pressure Regulator, but I would change the spark plugs and the fuel filter too..

alright i'll try it this weekend. lately it has been hard to start. like NORMALLY i would turn the key and it would immediatetly start. now i have to hold the key and let it crank for a while and then it will start. once it's on for like 5-10 seconds it's perfectly fine.

how often should the PCV valve be changed out? i've never done that. also how do you change it?

I'm with Chevy6000vho on this. My truck did the same thing after a topend clean. Changed the plug and solved the problem.

I am usually on ls2.com but I noticed ya'll have a truck section.
I am having the same issue w/ my wifes 01 Tahoe.
At start up the rpm's will drop and surge - once you give it some gas it does not hesitate.
It also occurs other times while coming to a stop sign/redlight. It is not consistant though. It seems to be worse if the A/C is on.

70K miles original plugs/wires - I plan to change them this weekend.
Fuel injector regularly
Fuel filter 10K miles ago
PCV valve @ every oil change

What do ya'll recommend I try after the plugs/wires???
Idle control valve? How much is this?
Fuel pressure reg. How $?

Seems I'm having similar issues as Justin. But mine seems worse, it is surging real bad from a stop light or sign to about 60 mph. It seriously feels like someone is lightly tapping on the brake pedal as I am driving or accelerating. It only seems to do this on part throttle situations. AT WOT it drives fine. but when I let off the gas to coast down it starts again. Really driving me mad.

I have changed out spark plugs and cleaned my throttle body. Plugs are NGK TR55 with about 20,000 miles on them. MAF could probably use a good cleaning.

As far as the Fuel Pressure Regulator, PCV Valve, Fuel Filter, and ICV Valve, where are these items located, how easily changed and where are parts available?

Also, I have the electronic drive by wire throttle body and have heard that these sometimes after time have a difficult time idling right. I have heard some folks speak of a way to repair these, I have not heard the lesson yet though, so I don't know if its a lube process or actually taking the unit apart and fixing it. I had this unit ported and is not the original off of my truck.

Oh and also, I know that mine needs to have the idle tables raised a tad since the ported TB was installed, prior TB had the hole in the blade, but this still doesn't seem to be all the problems
