Default question on magnaflow?

which muffler size should i go with? i think i am going to just get the muffler and dump it so i don't really need to get the whole cat back kit. however the problem i am having now is that since i have lowered my truck if i take a turn too sharp my muffler with bang up against my drive shaft. right now i have a flowmaster and i would like to get something different. do all the magnaflow mufflers sound the same? i want something equivalent to the 40 series 2-chamber flowmaster. thanks for the help....

I think the Magnaflow 14incher is equal to the 40 series Flows in sound only. I have twin 18 inch dumped and it sounds as if I gained a few cubic inches along with LT headers. On the highway it is quiet as hell.

They are side-by-side and are dumped just before the rear end.

does the 14" offer better performance over the flowmaster? does it have a bad drone to it? is there a difference between the 14" and 18" in performance or sound? i plan on dumping out past the rear axle or i might just have it exit out the side in front of the tire.

my Magnaflow 14" 6"rd has a very slight drone at 60mph.. i dont know why. i put the exact same muffler on my friends 04 z71 and his sounds deeper and DEAD quiet inside unless you hammer on it. then it sounds reallly Good! but for cruising, you never will hear it inside, and outside it has a nice tone. you can tell its not stock.

I have the 5x8x18. Probably in the middle as far as loudness goes. It got a bit louder after the LTs but still not obnoxious.
