Default Question of free air mod for 4.8

Hey guys. My buddy has a 2000 Silverado with the 4.8 in it. Is the free air mod worth doing? I've done it to my 98 Camaro SS and trying to help my friend make his truck and little faster. Thanks guys.

Yep, I think it is. I had an K&N FIPK when I made my current ram-air set up, it performed better than the FIPK. I'm still using it and sold the FIPK on E-bay. I'm also using a Purolator paper filter, I went to the track, the K&N drop in filter for the factory air box only made the truck .07 seconds faster in the 1/4 than the Purolator filter (two run average). Not worth the money in my opinion, but of course, over time you will buy a lot more paper filters. So, I guess if you want to save money, get the K&N but it doesn't really perform any better. Here's pics of my ram-air set up.
