Default Question on EGR removal.

I have a 5.3rcsb I think my EGR valve is going bad. Somebody told me just to get tham deleted from the computer. What if anything does that do for performance? Will it hurt anything? (MPG?)

mine didnt hurt milage. and if it does anything for performance its not much. i like mine without it. engine bay looks cleaner and i feel better now that exhaust isnt being pumped back through my intake.

EGR only comes into play at part throttle. At WOT its off, just like it wasnt there. So there will be 0 gain in HP, but at part throttle you may have a tiny bit more.

Could I run with no EGR without programming for it for a while? If not who would you recommend for a tune? Thanks

your service engine light will show immediately but it will still run fine. Allen nelson from nelson performance is who i would recommend for mail order tuning. if you have someone local who can tune in person i would go with that.
