Question on behalf of my dad...

He got a new engine for his drag car and has this question about it. Not sure why...
1993 Chevrolet 350 out of a 1500 4WD extended cab pickup. Just curious about the compression ratio with the stock pistons and if the pistons are flat
tops or dished. Thanks.
Thanks for your help,
Josh Hucks
PS: Also put this in the SBC-BBC forum. Just trying to cover a wide audience

in the area of 9.3 to 1 ratio with dished pistons. the heads are a little over 64 cc, and they flow like ****. there's a ramp in the intake port that is an early type vortec swirl design that built torque, but limited high rpm horspower. these heads will fall flat on their face over 4000, plus the cam is horrible too..... that motor is hardly a drag motor. it's about the worst possilbe you could have actually, the cam and heads combined make for no rpms.

Thanks for the info.
Its not going into the drag car in its current form by any means. He's going to breathe on it heavily. The 383 thats in it now is stout, so not real sure why he's going to build this one up...I guess for a spare?
Once again thanks for the info...
