Default question on air/fuel gauge

i just installed a air fuel gauge in my truck. it seems to be working fine. the question i have is, when normal driving, is the gauge supposed to jump back and forth between lean and rich? when im full throttle, it goes to rich and stays like it's supposed to. is that just the o2 sending the signals?
thanks

Yes. Set your cruise at what ever speed and the guage should read stioch during that run. It should only move one or two lights either way.
