this is a stupid question but i dont know if it works or not. i got new gauges, these ones go up to 120, my old speedo went to 100. can i recalburate the speedo by finding some water, doing a break stand, then turning the speedo back to 0 when it hits 20? would this make up the 20mph difference?

I put a denali cluster in mine with a 120 mph speedo and a tranny temp guage they are already calibrated no matter what you had. My local gm dealer sent mine to gm and had them to put my miles on it.
