question about some heads i was given

The one caveat I'd say is that if you do in fact have 706s then also look for a castech marking. Those are prone to cracking an may make the swap worthwhile, but it's still not an upgrade.

thanks for all of the info guys i really appreciate it. but like i said i was just wondering if they would even be worth trying to fix up to but on or not since they were free and i waas going to be taking apart my engine anyway soon to install my cam.

Doing a cam swap is about 1/3 the work as swapping the heads... the LS based engines don't even need the heads pulled. Keep what you have would be my opinion because even in a straight comparison the only advantage for the 241s is that they have a larger intake valve, however, depending on the setup that may move your powerband to the right.
