Question about my magnaflows
#1
I finally got my magnaflows on my 6.0. I just cut the stock muffler off and welded my two maggies on it with turn down tips, i like th sound but i have 2 Q's
Do you think i would gain any power from this? how much?
It is pretty loud cruising at 16-1800rpm (i have messed up gear/tire combo that does this) is it bad on the tranny to shift it into 3rd to pick the rpm up to 2000 where its not so annoying? and by that i mean quite frequently. its a 4l80E with about 125k miles on it. will i burn much more gas? it almost sounds like the motor doesnt work half as hard at 2000rpm. I did change my tires from 245's to 285's and cant afford gears yet.
Wut gears would raise my cruising rpm 3-400? i have 3.73's right now
Thanks Korey

Don't worry about your mufflers. They are doing what they are designed to do. If it's too loud for you, then you need to add another round Magnaflow muffler on each pipe.
The dumped pipes under the truck will also make it drone like that. If you run them all the way out the back then you are casting the sound backward (why do you think they did it like this from the factory). If you tow alot....then the rear exit pipes will drone off of what you are hauling.
By opening up your restrictive factory muffler, you are going to make more power. Probably not so much that you'll feel it. But it will help.
You have to decide: Quiet or Loud.
