Default Question about my LT1 fans and engine temp in slow traffic

I got caught in a construction zone yesterday at lunch and was stuck in traffic for about 30 minutes. At times would not even move for 5 minutes at a time, and would only crawl about 2 mph at a time.Outside temp guage got up as high as 102 degrees.I have a 160 t-stat and LT1 fans. The fans tried to keep engine temps down, but eventually my guage started to creep up and ended up somewhere around 195-200 degrees(guessing by the guage)Just wondering if that would be considered normal in that situation. It was bumper to bumper and I was behind a big moving truck.Other than that my temps have been staying fairly consistant on the hwy and in town driving.

that's actually pretty good since stock they run about 210 anyways and you never got above that in traffic. looks good to me.

Very good. I'd be worried if the temps got over 210-220, but 195 is still under stock temps.

Mine does that in traffic all the time. Baton rouge, la. Mine never gets above 195. Even with me running an asp crank pulley with the stock alternator pulley. The stock pulley doesn't turn the alt. fast enough to generate enough juice to run the fans at full strength at idle with the a/c on. I am hopeing to have that problem resolved by the weekend.

Plus the stock guage is not accurate at all. My guage is telling my ~195 while at the same time autotap tells me 183.
