SC application, catalytic conv.?

Is the catalytic convertors hurting performance in my application & should I get rid of them? I am not too worried about emmisions & the state I live in hasn't had vehicle inspections in over 8 years.

I think you stock setup is your cork...supercharged with 2.5 y-pipe to a 3" exhaust?! That is my setup on my N/A 302 in my F-150.
I'd go with a set of 3" true duals to eliminate most of the back pressure..FI needs least amount. Good cats generally don't sap much power (5-10rwhp tops).

I didn't notice much difference on mine when I gutted the cats. I had the exhaust setup in my sig, and decided to gut the cats. Only a little more tone to it.
I did notice a very strong exhaust smell after I did it. I could tell that my truck was definantly running pig *** rich, which might explain the 9-11 mpg in the city on average.
If I were to have it to do again knowing what I know now .. I would have gone with new mufflers before I gutted the cats again.

get rid of them!! if they dont test in your area why not take advantage of every trick in the book. the answer i got most to that question is 5-10hp by tossing the cats.

2ksleeper how did you like the Magnaflow cat-back sound and performance?
Flyer and/or Parish8 did you have trouble when you took off the cats?
I´m planning to take them off too but some one told me that it would be a problem with pcm and codes all over.

I just gutted mine and stuck them back up there. I did the same thing as parish, turned off all the codes for the rear o2's. I have been running around on a stock program though for about 2 weeks, and have not set a code yet. As long as I don't set one tomorrow, I will be fine. I'm trading it in tomorrow.

I kept going through transmissions like there was nothing to them. Not a big deal except the first one I grenaded was 407 to fix on top of the already 2k I had into it.
Once I can round up some money for another tranny, I'll be blown again! I took all my performance parts off before I traded it in, cept the tranny. I'll still be around to give ya a good run for your money! Just wait til I get that blower back on there .. there will be no stopping it now.
I can tell already I am going to have MAJOR traction issues. The new ride has the G80 and 3.42 rear end. If it is as much of a problem as I'm thinking it's going to be I may have to opt for a set of 4.10's for it.
