Default question about center/center and center/offset mufflers

I was just curious about getting a straight through muffler with a center/center or a center/offset, or a offset/offset, whats the difference? i mean i know they enter and exit at different spots on the muffler but whats the main purpose for it? for fitment? does one gain more hp over another or what? thx fellas

one purpose is for fitment and the center/center will flow the best out of all of them so more flow....more power
