Default Question about a bed for a 01 Silverado

I inherited my Grandfathers 2001 Silverado regular cab short bed. Bad thing he crunched in the bumper and messed up the bed pretty good. I got a bumper to replace it, there is a guy a few hours away selling a bed for like $300. However it's from a 2002 Silverado 2500 HD and it's a long bed, non-dually. Would this bolt on, or some fabrication or totally not worth it.
