Default Question for 4L80E conversion guys....

Ok, here is the deal. I have a truck in the shop that we just did a 4L80E conversion on and I have some questions about the wire harness. I got the harness hook ups from Speed Scene Wiring and they sent me only the VSS hook up which I know is for the second VSS from the tranny because the 80E uses two of them. So my question is why does speartech use a new plug extension for the side of the tranny? Speed scene said just plug right in and its fine. But the other things they had me change was some pin outs on the PCM its self. The three pins they had me take out are the #2 and #42 on the red connector which is both for the TCC. The other pin was #79 on the blue connector which was for the 3-2 shift. Then they had me put the 3-2 pin into the #2 on the red connector. And then they had me put the VSS into the #22 and #23 which is what everyone else does. Now this is where I sit back and go why the hell did they want me to undo the TCC pins? another thing the truck does now is it wont disengage 4WD.

I was also thinking it wont disengage 4WD because of the fluid level maybe? The fill plug on the side was stripped and I had to pour from one of the top connections to fill it. My trans shop told me about 2 quarts to fill. Is this enough or does anyone know the correct amount to fill to? Any help on this conversion would help out alot. Thanks.

The Speartech plug does what you did on the PCM in the harness on the trans, much easier IMO. I would think there would be more differences, but I could be wrong.

Dunno what to tell ya about the 4wd part though.

So turning off the TCC would be part of it then? Not sure what they are trying to do.

I don't kow if it turns the TCC off, but it might use some different pins for it, which are turned around in the Speartech connector.

Ok, I am in Idiot. So its not the wire harness fault. I was stuck in 4WLow. So my customer tells me you have to be stopped in Nutral to take it out, so I walk over to the truck, start it, pop it in nutral and 2wd and wahla....Fixed.

Stupid trucks, this is what I get for not racing in the mud.
