are you SURE......I was explained to by the dealership that it WAS NOT (is it possble the 4L60 and 4L80 are different in the aspect ???)

im pretty sure as long as the engine is on there is always line presure no matter where the gear selector is

Yes, I'm sure.

The only gray area here is the version of the 4L60-E used in the hybrid trucks. Option code M33. These are the ones that have an electric generator/motor sandwiched between the flexplate and torque converter. (These engine also have no conventional starter.) This trans has an electric pump in the pan to supply line pressure when the truck comes to a stop and the engine shuts off. Even in this trans the front (main) pump is driven by the converter hub.

i do this after i brake hard...that way i dont create a hot spot on the rotor while stopped.

also guys with big cams and stock converters do it to keep the car from wanting to drive though the brakes and jump around
