Hello everyone. I have a question about my pushrods im going to be getting. I have a pair of 862 port and polished heads and some 1-3/4 texas speed headers. Im going to get a 212/218 .600 lift cam in the future, but i want to change the heads now since my truck has the bad 706 castech head which leak little coolant. Will i need a different size pushrods? Is the stock 7.4 fine?
My real question is when i swap the heads can i install the PAC-1219 which are good till .625 lift even tho i wont be adding a cam till later?, and will milling my 862 heads to .030 be good? Im just trying to get a little more compression from stock nothing too much.

 

If you mill the heads you will need different length pushrods.

 

With the stock cam and milled heads you may need a 7.375

With the milled heads and aftermarket cam you'll most likely end up with 7.4

I wouldn't be surprised if the 7.4's with the stock cam and milled heads still work but you'll need to measure to make sure.
