Default pushrod questions

my cam is a 224/236 with .600+ lift, ls7 lifters, prch .650 lift double springs and milled heads .020 this is on a 6.0 (l76) and l92 heads. my mechanic installed 1 pushrod the length of it was 7.400 and it was too short, we torqued them down (22ftlbs) not to much because worried of strippin the bolt but it was still loose where the rockers were at. is the 7.400s not recommened with this cam? i would think with milled heads and ls7 lifters it should of been fine.. from what he said he thinks 7.450 should be used in this setup

Put a pushrod length checker in there and do it right. Need to ensure you get the correct lifter pre-load as well.
