purple-ish smoke on start up? wtf?

Exclamation purple-ish smoke on start up? wtf?

i got a 5.3 and when i leave it alone, dont start it for a day or more or even after sittin overnite sometimes it starts up and poof theres a huge *** cloud of purplish smoke rollin out from my truck. i hate it. it only does it some days other days itll be fine when it starts. ive saw a little smoke from like ta's and camaros but not this much. what can that be caused by? damn purple smoke, it smells really bad too. thanks

I'm thinking valve stem seals also. When you swapped cam & valvesprings, did you replace them? How long have they been in there?

aight preciate it viscious, and about 2 years ago i did the cam valvesprings and pushrods swap. whats the fix?

the stem seals i dont think so, wasnt replaced

New stem seals are cheap, just takes a little work to install them. I'd start with that.

well I wouldn't exactly call it a little work, he's got to pull all the valve springs off.

I agree on the valve seals, that's the exact symptoms, blue smoke on start up since the oil will leak past the seals and settle in the combustion chambers as the vehicle sits, then burn off on start up.
