I dont have the intercooler hookep up yet, but i want to slap this pully on sooooo bad. think its too risky? i am detuned just a little bit due to not wanting my motor to go south till i get the 6.0 in. but if i keep my foot out of the gas, think it will be alright?

With your deaf ear for detonation I don't know if I would Just kidding man. You could if you stay out of the throttle (you will still notice a HUGE increase in low end torque with this new pulley) but why don't you just finish the intercooler already

I have to keep the water injection reservoir fully topped off to keep out of trouble with a 3.5" pully (and no intercooler). It sure is fun, though! For the 15 minutes it takes to swap it out, why not? If you do get some knock, just take it off, take time to realize how much better it feels with the 3.5 - this will motivate you to get that intercooler installed like right now!

I cant help it i cant hear! hahaha.
When i hear detontation, i just tell my self its a gravel patch i hit on the highway. lol in a couple weeks, im gonna install the 6.0 i just didnt see the need to work on the intercooler piping and stuff just to have to take it off so soon. is it possible to tune down my motor some and it run the 3.5 with no detonation?

Why not run some good gas...like race gas? The $15.00 you spend on a few
gallons of race gas will compensate later on for when you hit that pedal. What gas do you normally run in it?

I can't, for the life of me, understand why some guys in the FI section insist on running pump gas and low boost. What sense does it make to even have something FI ? Either get an alcohol injection system of run race gas when you know you'll be driving the car/truck hard.

Really? There is NO race gas in that entire huge state of Texas? Well, it can be ordered in 5 gallon cans OR you can buy/order some 1 gallon cans of Xylene. Xylene will boost your octane. I hope this helps, just trying to give you some suggestions...I hate to see people spend money on FI stuff and not use it to its capacity.

Yes, if you can find Cam2 Race gas, approximately 110 octane, this will give you about 100-103 octane...if you mix equal amounts. This means if you have 3 gallons of 93 and mix in 3 gallons of 110, you'll get approx. 100-103 octane. There is a octane calculator on the 'net some place. Try and do a google search for it.

Either that or try and find some Xylene at Home Depot or paint supply stores. I never used it much, as I have alcohol injection, but some of the other Buick guys I know use it with great success.

How much boost does the old pulley give? How much approx. will the new pulley give? I would think you should be able to run at least 7 - 10 lbs. on 93 octane, if not, then something is wrong.

old pully is 6psi,, new one is around 10-11. you cant go much higher than 6 on stock without detontaion on pump gas without some anti detonation manuvers. also,, how much of the xceline should i mix it with lets say, 20 gallons of 93
