I would suggest a USED Hypertech. Try it, and if you don't like it you can surely get your money (or most of it, maybe more if you sell it on Ebay) back. I think you will be surprised with the Hypertech, I like mine alot. If you do have a laptop, I think HPtuners is the way to go. Especially considering the buy one vehicle get one free deal they offer now. Have any friends you could split it with?

i had the vinci hand held and its a powerful piece may want to look at them also.

The only advantage with the Diablo tuner over the Hypertech is that you do get free custom tune with it. Personaly i'd go with the custom tune like Nelson.

i need to find out how to program a denali cluster to a 99 silverado 4x4 i have access to a tech 2 and gm tsi please email me if anyone has the correct way to program. i have the cluster i need to program the mileage and program out the air bag light.

Is the programmers like Nelson Ls1edit and HP the only way to get rid of the Torque managment?

to permanently get rid of, yes. but most programmers set the parameters far enough so as not to trip them.

If you're definitely set on a hand held, my vote goes to the Crane/Vinci Tuner.

mileagfe can only be set by the people that reman the clusters. afaik
