Talked with ProCharger today about their system for a 2003 Siverado with the 5.3 engine. Said they haven't done one yet but "think" it should work. Has anybody installed one on their 2003?

I may be just the lucky one in the bunch, but I have a Whipple on my 2K 5.3 EXC Silverado and have had not a minutes worth of trouble with it. No pinging no nada just power when I want it is all I can say about it. I am getting ready to put one on my 2003 4.8 "shorty" PU.

In the last couple of months I've read posts where 2 different trucks have needed rebuilds because of broken #7 pistons and another posted last week asking about a missfire on #7 cylinder. There are other supercharger systems out there that make similar power,I don't know any of these guys. They could have been running excessive boost.I bought the Magnacharger after reading about those problems.I'm just passing on information that influenced my final my decision.

I am not tring to start an argument, but i had a whipple before and everyone of my buddies that bought whipples blew their motors weather it was too lean or to hot the whipple seemed to detonate on every truck we did. To give you an example we put a whipple on a stock chevy truck with 6lb. of boost. Even with the whipple pulling timing i had to still pull 5% of timing with ls1 edit just to keep the thing from not pinging. If i were you i would consider any type of charger that is intercooled. I dont think you will have any problems then.

I have a procharger and a 2002 truck. The 2002, not sure about a 2003, is hell to tune. It does not use the PE method of adding fuel. I have been jacking with my LS1 Edit for a week and still not happy about my tune. As for the power, huge!! I do not have any traction in 2 gear at 60!

Stupidfast, I'm gonna have to meet up with you sometime to feel that thing run. I can only imagine how it feels after 4000 when the boost really starts. Good luck on the tune.

I have had my magnacharger on for almost a year now with no issues at all. And the way I drive, if something was going to go, it would have gone big time by now. I am very happy with the engineering that went into the kit.
If I was going to go with a screw type I would look hard at Kenne Bell since they sized the injectors instead of adding auxillary ones. Just my .o2.
