Default problems with patriot heads

I have a coolant leak on the drivers side back header bolt. These are brand new patriot heads. do they tie the coolant jacks into the header bolt holes? My bolts are only 3/4 to 1" long and the flanges on my pacesetters are 3/8" so there is no way I got the bolt in to far. Any ideas?

I have read about others having this problem also, I can't remember where. I know it was with Patriot though.

A guy on SSS.com had that problem too. Sorry to hear that man since you just got it up and running. Heads swaps are fun

I was thinking about ordering a set. What heads did you get? Stage 3?

stage 2 LS6 heads. I am wanting to know what they are going to say about this. I could just put some pipe compound on a longer bolt and be done with it, but I want to know if there were ment to be like this.

I know that ported heads will often have the water jacket cut into on the intake ports....that's why ALL good head porters tell you to silicone the rocker arm bolts to prevent coolant leaks into the intake, but I'm not sure i've ever heard of a water jacket being cut into on the exhaust side....I guess it's possible but it'd have to be one hell of a port job to remove that much material.

I'd be looking into the possibilities of a crack or gasket leak.......
