Default Predator Q's....*warning*...long

after my little LS1Edit cable fiasco I have decided to skip rebuying Edit and purchase a Predator (it does 98% of what I want), I have a few Q's though that I hope you guys can answer....

1. can you do "custom" tuning for 87 octane or do you have to use the 91 octane tune ??...I ask b/c gas is still EXPENSIVE in CA

2. does it completely remove TM ??

3. how high can you set the speed limiter....at least 125 ??

4. can you adjust torque converter lockup ??

5. Granatelli says you can "create custom tunes on your computer and upload them to the predator"....how ??, does it come with software and a link cable to do so or is it just editing a text file or something ??

6. does the tuning affect tow/haul mode or is that left alone *or* can you choose which mode to program...kinda like having a stock tune and a tow/hual *** tune

I have already d/l'ed the owners manual and read it cover to cover...these were the questions that the manual doesn't cover

thanks in advance

Where did you purchase your Predator?

You acan adjust timing. So you should be able to tune for 87 Octane.

Yes it does remove TM.

Speed limiter is 125

Not sure on the TC lock up?

You can get a link program that allows you to download and upload tunes from the web. I got mine from Runninwiththedevil.com, through James. Great guy to deal with.

Get it from Runninwiththedevil.com and ask for James. All updated tunes and link software are free if you do the original purchase with him. And its FREE next day air. If you have AOL IM you can chat with im about your concern right now. Hes online. Username is Bubba from Bama.

The options menu is for the dealer only. You shouldnt need to get in there for any reason.

I'm buying from Summit Racing (I have a $400 gift certificate..that's the only reason)...the price is the same and the shipping is free as well....

are the custom tune downloads still available ??(as far as I can tell they should be because every place that sells the Predator offers them...)

If anyone buys one get it from Jason Penzo at PDQ performance { one of our sponsers} Awesome customer service!!! Yes you can have Johan send you the down load and you can tweak your Predator at home. Go to PDQ's website { right hand side} and download the question page and you can see a bit of what all you can change. You can change more than what is on there. OR call Johan and send it in and he can tune it

Why not just get your Edit situatiuon fixed? The Predator does hardly anything compared to Edit, and must be returned to the dealer for custom tune, IF they have a custom tune, or CAN make one for you. I have inquired about one for my truck, and was told they didn't have a tune, but would call me, so they could make one. That was a year ago, and two emnails ago, and nothing since.
I think I may have read about your cable fiasco. The dog ate it or something? It was discussed on the Edit mailing list, if so. Just get him the info he needs, and he should fix you up. Sam
