PRC vs Trickflow vs AFR
#1
Help needed Im backed into a corner right now I was ready to order some heads had my mind set on prc and now people are saying go for trickflow and afr someone please tell me your opinons of each head and or how they perform for your builds. Thanx

afr and trickflow will out perform the prc heads. they will also cost alot more. if i wasnt ona budget, trick flow would be my choice. but in your situation with a 5.3, i think money could be spent better in other places.

cant compare those at all man , afr and tfs are aftermarket casting while the prc are stock cnc'ed .
the prc can work great but youll see more power from the aftermarket's . The aftermarket also has a thicker deck which is good for keeping them sealed to block with boost and nitrous.
budget heads get budget results.

I was quoted 2350 for trickflow stage 2 assembled with pushrods is this a deal to jump on or does it seem a little too pricey?

2350 is about retail but your not giving enough info on them
iirc i paid about 2600 for my TEA TFS 6 bolt heads assembled with dual .650 springs . upgraded intake valves and inconel exhaust valves

There is nothing wrong with budget heads if you know how to port. I run factory heads and port them myself, but if I were spending over $1000.00 or going after big power it wouldn't be on a factory casting.
