Default power steering

My neighbor has a 2000 chevy truck. May be a v-6 but says his power steering just STOPPED working. Has fluid...belt is on....just wondered if anyone ever heard of a pump just going out...never whined or anything

It happened to my '01 Sierra and a friends '99 Silverado. It was kind of a pain to replace, that pulley is on there pretty tight. Good luck.

Hehe, I will tell you Ford builds a crappy pump. I've had 3 leak/break/lock up for no reason. These are all new ones too.

But yep, stuff just breaks.
