Power gains with headers?
#1
I'm thinking of going with a set of ASM's or Thorley Tri-Y's.
All I really hear about are peak numbers. How about everyday driveability - what kind of power do headers actually produce? All up top? Spread out?
I guess what I'm getting at, is that I absolutely don't want to lose anything down low. Am I SOL?

Yes, the Thorley's are smog legal...they have the CARB # stamped on the header.

I got 20rwhp with my Hamms, exhaust change and a slipping tranny. They made power across the board with 20 being the peak at around 5700. I will have to look at the dyno graphs againg to be ablsolutly certian.

The JBA shorties I had used knocked .2 seconds off of my quarter, but I wish I would have long tubed it. I noticed a small gain down low, a good gain mid range, and a good stronger pull to redline up top. I have driven a friends truck with ASMs, and they respond much better than the JBA's. The real good thing about the JBA's is the ease of install, and no welding required. I will feel a better gain when I get the cam swap done!
