Default Is it possible to use NNBS 5.3 in a NBS?

I have a friend that bought a all aluminum 5.3 just so he could use the heads off of it. I was joking with him asking how much he would want for it and said he would swap me for my block. What all is needed to run a NNBS 5.3 in a NBS that also has a 5.3? I believe it is out of a 08 but I'm not sure, and mine is a 99. It was pulled and replaced under a service contract for lifter noise at a local shop. Just wondering if its worth the trouble. Mine has 155000 miles and this has around 80000-90000 he said.

And just for reference even thought air ride isn't the most popular here this is my truck.

I've read that the knock sensors have been moves, and that's all I've found.

If you reuse your intake its a lot simpler. You need a converter box for the crank signal. The 07+is 58x and yours is 24x. Oil pressure sensor is different. Cam signal is different but the crank converter box may fix that as well.

That's for the link. I guess if i'm not having any issues other than higher mileage I should just keep mine in place. Looks like a lot to change in a truck like this that will never go any where fast.

Not really worth changing. Would be cool to have the aluminum block though. You can use the converter box like atomic said instead of swapping cranks. The cam and knock sensor harnesses don't cost much at all.

He's got 3 now, 2 ls1's and this 5.3 If anything I'll tell him to hang on to it incase mine ever lets go. He'll never use them all.
