Default Is it possible guys?

To do a 6.0 swap from 4.3 for 3500?? I got the money, just asking. I know you guys are going to say sell it and get a v8, but I don't want to do that because of memories in my truck.

I can live without airconditioning in the truck, so that cuts a big amount of payment. If I get enough information, im going to do it this summer.

what kind of truck is it? year, tranny, ect. but yeah its possiable, just going to depend on how much you spend on a harness and 6.0.

It is possible, I just quoted a guy $2800 to do it. This includes all the parts to do it. Luckly a friend of mine owns a salvage yard that has all the donatong parts including the engine.
This includes:
6.0 Engine
fuel lines
harness
mounts
and tune.
He will have to do his own exhuast.

sure, you can swap it but it wont last long.

Your going to need a beefed up tranny, engine, motor mounts, harness, tune, exhaust, fuel lines. I would recomed purchasing a cheap 5.3 to do the swap and then when you have some more cash swap in the 6.0.

the engine is going to run 1500+
tranny 1800.00
fuel lines 200.00
exhaust 600.00
mounts 100.00
tune 350.00

Odds and ends like Oil, tranny fluid, 200.00

so thats 4750+
SO id say no unless you find some really good deals on parts.

He won't need a new tranny will he? Dont 4.3's come with 4l60E's? With a good shift kit and servos I'd imagine it will hold a relativly stock 6.0l. Thats $200. If not you can always sell your 4.3l and 4l60 to a yard, that will help buying a 65/80E if needed. A new stall is $700~. I'd save up atleast another grand for the odds and ends, there's nothing like running out of cash on a project your trying to get knocked out. Then again we don't know your time frame. If you have a few months to have your truck on stands, then I'd get started. It's very possible, you just have to know people, and know were to get parts.
