porting throttlebody...how much

TO port throttle body.. do you need a bigger butterfly? WOuld a machine shop beable to port the throttle body and make a buterfly. ? thanks

no you want need a bigger butterfly.
you will only port and polish up to the lip of the butterfly.
you want to leave that little bump there also dont take off tomuch or it will cause problems.

Hey thanks Tib
I bought a polishing kit and used my air power dremel tool and cut it down, then smoothed it out and polished it. its as smooth as glass now.

well its really not going to give you any HP. maybe a bit better throttle response. mine seemed to respond well to the mod with the throttle response. But I also did it because i was figgiting around in the garage and said what the hell, "I port and polish my TB".
took me a few hours to do.
