I woundnt expect any gain from it. I havent done it nor will I do it.
BTW, over the past year I have learned some stuff with free mods, usually no noticable gains and usually you have to replace the part you worked on. Dont descreen the MAF, and if you never ported a TB dont touch it let some that had done it before do it. Just save the cash and get a exhaust and a Nelson tune and a KN filter.

When I had my Silverado, I bought a P&P TB, didn't notice much from it and I also got an intermitent SES light after I installed it that never came back after I took it off. I took my stock TB and smoothed it out, it had rough edges on it and the TB surface was rough. I took some very fine sand paper and just smoothed everything out, not really a P&P, just got everything smooth. Seemed to work better than the P&P TB I bought, so I kept it and sold the other one.

Spend your time waxing the truck. It will give you the same gains.

Ive noticed that every high hp cam only setup has had a ported and polished TB. This may be coincidence, but since I had to take mine off to clean it I figured I might as well clean it up. I simply smoothed the lip and did some minor porting on the inside to smooth everything out and got rid of that huge ridge that is a bit before the blade. Im going to polish it tomorrow. It really wasnt hard at all and I had fun doing it. It cant hurt as long as you dont port around the blade and with a blower I figured that making a less turbulent path and smoothing out the air flow cant hurt.

I couldn't imagine how much time you'd waste doing this worthless mod.. if you ever log your truck before and after and notice some gains, let me know cuz I'd be rather amazed.....but afterall, you wouldn't loose anything unless you drilled though the side, so go for it if you're actually THAT bored.
