How many miles on it? Do you lube the front end regularily?

The last few GM trucks I've had that have done this, all had bad ball joints.

Well, I have a 9 inch lift on it. Where do you lube it at. The last this happened it was my cab bolts. I tightened them and it stopped. But this time is still does it. I have about 102K

Me too but mine comes more front the front of the truck. Its coming for the springs I think and their seats. I think the older trucks had a problem with this "popping" and might be fixed by some kind of different rubber seat for the springs.

there is a crossmember that bolts together on those trucks, it right underneath the oil pan, if you tak that out, clean all the under coating off, and take a dremel clean up the holes, reinstall it then tighten super tight it will probablly be gone. ive seen this on alot of vehicles, all of them were stock though

Do you have nerf bars? I had a popping noise drive me crazy because one of the bolts that connected the strut to the frame had some play (maybe an 1/8" or so) in it and kept banging the frame every time the body of the truck rocked. I just wrapped some electral tape (redneck engineering) around the bolt and it acts as a cushion and has been fine since.

Sounds like there is a lot of places noises come from.

Another one that drove me nuts for MONTHS - loose hood hinge bolt on the passenger side of the truck. I thought it was anything from front end components to door hinges to shocks.
