I have a friend trying to sell me a 6.0 out of a GTO. Says its an LS6 engine. Anyone know if this would work in my Silverado 5.3 to 6.0 swap?

 

An ls6 is a 5.7 .. A ls2 is a 6.0

It would work just fine either one

 

Not to mention an LS6 never came in a GTO...

 

the ls6 came in the first year of the gto

 

That was a ls1

 

In 2004 the GTO had the LS1 5.7 and in 05-06 they had the LS2 6.0... but never had the LS6...

 

Yeah just to back everyone up the gto never had the ls6, ls1 and 2

 

Ok. Thank you fellas.. I just sent him a e-mail asking him just what he has. lol If it is an LS2 6.0 that won't swap in a Silverado will it? I seem to remember reading that an LS2 6.0 won't work with the 5.3L set up..

 

And of the ls engines are interchangable.. a ls2 will go right in

 

ls2 will slip right in. you will need to buy the harness for the knock sensors which is no big deal.
