Default Plus a thermostat?

Since most of you guy have some kind of ECM program or programmer, I have a question for those of you with hypertech PP3's. Besides running cooler, does a lower temp thermostat help any performance wise along with the pp3, or is this one of those things with less than a tenth improvement?

I can tell a noticable difference when my temp gauge is down around the mark halfway between what it calls 160 (actually 100) and 210, which would means the engines running around 160-170. In traffic or hot days when it raises up, I can tell it doesn't feel as peppy as I think it should.

Are you refering to the setting on the Hypertech or acutally installing a cooler thermostat? Lower engine temps with the cooler thermostat creates a cooler intake charge thus allowing you run a leaner, more agressively timed tune before detonation occurs. Thru reading my pcm with edit, I couldnt tell that the thermo setting in the hpp changed any setings in the computer.
