Same here but with 35" tires. Even when stock the 6.0 only got about 11 around town and 13-14 on the highway empty. Towing 5000+ lbs it drops to about 8-10 mpg. IMHO From my experience if I were to buy another 2500HD I'd just go for the big block or diesel. If you not towing often, or more than 5,000 lbs stick with a 1/2 ton, they are almost 1000lbs lighter you will get much better milage empty if that is your main concern, not to mention the cushy ride.

i had an 03 1500hd lt. i traded it for an 04 ecsb, std.2500. 03 got 11 -12 mixed and 15 on highway.i did have a few goodies on it though.the 04 gets 13.5 mixed and over 17 on hw. both trucks are 8600 gvwr,3.73 gears.didn't take a pic. of the new one yet but here is the 03,good luck.

i got an SS Silverado. 6.0 liter LQ9, with 4.10's. after some tuning i am getting about 14 in the city and 16-17 on the highway.
i do have a seperate tune i use for long drives (200+miles) that allows me to get 19mpg.

'03 Chvey Avalanche 5.3 w/3:73's. I drive this around 35k per year. Mainly highway/expressway (60-65, 75-80 respectively). I get around 19 avg. highway expressway and around 12 city. Overall avg. according to GM computer 16.5.
Good luck in your decision.
