Default Plans for the New Crew

So far this is what I have planned for the New Squirrel:

1. 3000 Stall
2. Cam 214/230 .601/.578 117 LSA
3. Usual Tranny Work
4. Zex Wet Kit (125 shot)
5. Long Tubes (Dynatech/no cats/x pipe/ mufflers??)
6. CAI
7. And Probably have that "Nelson" guy tune it

So what do y'all think? My buddy told me that for running N20 I need a 114 LSA...any truth to that?

Thanks,
Jason

Will this get my Truck into the 13's, if not, what else is needed?

That cam has alot of intake lift on it I would think something like a .570 with a .580 exhaust since you are running nitrous you need a couple more degrees of exhaust than intake. I would go with a 114 or close to it. For reference I am doing a h/c 6L with 150 shot on it I will be going with a 224/228 .571 .580 110lsa. The lower lsa is going to give me more torque down low at a more useable rpm instead of 6500rpm. You will have to get some really good valve springs to run that high lift and not to mention the stock 5.3 heads are going to take a nose dive in flow. My WCCH heads flow chart will start falling off at 580 and thats a set of 6L with a stage 2 job done to them. BTW talk to Allen see what he says he helped me alot in my decision.

Yeah it would be pretty good for na but still a high intake lift. Get a 114lsa so the power isnt so high up the rpm band. Just my .02 If you already have that cam then go for it just be sure to put some comp 918's in there.

First of all, nice looking Crew! Well with the cam, stall,CAI,and a great tune you should already dip into the low 14's! Now with the the 125 shot you plan on runing you should easily fall into the 13's. Good luck wit the upgrades and keep us posted man!

what gears you got now? You might want to upgrade to a 4:10's or 3:90's for maximun accelaration.

Thanks, came w/3.73's. I do alot of driving so I really don't want to mess with the gears. Like I said before, the mods will be completed before the Race Season starts in Texas.

Ill say this much with the the mods you are talking about without the nitrous I would think you would be a mid 14 truck since you weigh almost as much as me and I have all those mods except the cam for now. Yeah the weather sucks right now. Im in alabama for the next couple of months working but when I get back Ill have a nice little surprise under the hood to start pounding on fbodys and mustangs. With the mods and the nitrous I would say you would have 13.6 or so truck on your hands with good weather. The good thing about nitrous is it isnt as affected by weather as FI is.

My 05 Crew Cab went 15.22 @ 90.9mph with Volant/AeroChamber/87 Octane Predator Tune. I'm thinking with the custom tune it should pick up at least another tenth. I plan on doing shift kit/servo/3000 Converter and a 75 - 100 shot of nitrous. I think this would be enough to get into the low 14's high 13's second range. So if you do the cam and headers I would think you would be into the 13s. Keep Us Posted.....
