bought a gibson catback exhaust for my truck,paid $800 and sounds like ****.you can fart louder then this exhaust, how much louder will it get with long tube hearers and hi-flow cats and im droping in the 6.0l on monday will that make any more noise

 

800 on gibson??? ouch...

longtubes and no cats will make it a TON louder. i didnt notice any sound difference between my 5.3 and my current motor.

 

i have to run cats in in Canada $10,000 fine if (dot )sticks his wand up your exhaust

 

idk i've never been stopped by a DOT...that happen often up there?

 

yes they always set up on some on-ramp or bridge and if you have anything thats looks nice and sounds good they give you the wave to pull over

 

i think im goona pull the gibson muffler and drop in a flowmaster they seem to sound the best ,just shitty that i spent 800 on 2 pieces of stainless pipe

Headers alone won't change the sound level....cats is the main determinant of sound levels.

i have a gibson on my truck, i love it. its not too loud, isnt raspy like a flowmaster and will get loud when i get on it. i took the cats off my truck and it didnt get any louder, it only gets louder when i open the cutouts.
